About Me

My name is Angel Rafael Valdez Fernandez.
I was born in a small town in the deep south of Texas named Brownsville.

I have two older brothers, making me the youngest in the family. I'm very family and friend oriented, because they are my foundation.

My mom made sure I was involved in school. Throughout grade school, I was in tennis, chess, science fair, gardening club, and basically any other club that meant I could be out of the house, lol. I caught myself gravitating toward similar clubs throughout middle and high school—the VEX Robotics team, the electric car racing team, and the coding club. I knew then that I wanted to be an engineer.

I am an Electrical Engineering major with a minor in Computer Science at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. Unsurprisingly, I am heavily involved on campus. Most notably, I am an active member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, a Supplemental Instructor, and an IT specialist. I love my university, the opportunities it has provided, and the people I’ve met along the way.

Outside of that, I love going to the beach back home at South Padre Island, listening to all kinds of music, watching critically acclaimed shows, tinkering with technology, and eating sushi. I also recently picked up DJing and have been really enjoying it.
